IMPORTANT NOTE: Beeswax can harden AND melt easily. You may find that your wax can be hard in cooler weather – simply rub with a cloth for a few seconds and friction caused will start to melt the wax, or, sit the tin in lukewarm water for a few minutes.
As the product also contains a lot of olive oil, we can’t make it to soft as the melting point of oil is low – in summer you would end up with soup!
You should clean and nourish your leather and wood 2-3 times a year with extra fine Australian beeswax which is the most effective way to protect and care for you goods.
Don’t apply any conditioning product before cleaning the items. Use warm soapy water with a gentle soap like soap flakes or a castile soap (NOT DETERGENT as it’s too harsh).
Rub lightly with a soft cloth and wipe away excess suds with a clean cloth – don’t make it too ‘wet’. A soft touch is enough to get surface grime off without soaking through.
Never use any alcohol based cleaners as these will dry out leathers and woods and can cause discolouration.
Lastly, don’t keep leather or unsealed wooden products near sources of heat such as radiators or heaters and please don’t store leather shoes or coats in plastic bags, keep in cloth bags to allow it to breathe.
Suitable for exotic leathers such as Ostrich, Crocodile etc.
