Hemp Seed Oil
Delicious and nutritious – hemp seed oil is from the crushed seeds of the cannabis plant. And it sure packs a punch. Hemp seed oil contains a healthy balance of plant Omega’s, cholesterol, minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. It may help prevent inflammation and repair skin cells, and perhaps what it’s most renowned for is its source of omega fatty acids.
What Else Is In Our Hemp Balm?
Coconut oil
Natural balms and coconut oil are a match made in heaven. Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids and antioxidants, and it’s believed to have natural anti-inflammatory properties. It moisturizes all skin types, and assists in various skin problems such as psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema and flea allergies. It also helps to disinfect cuts and promotes healing.
Shea butter
Shea butter is extracted from the nuts from the Shea tree and hosts an array of benefits for pets and people. Touted for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties – it’s soothing and safe to use on all different types of skin.
Black pepper
You’ve no doubt sprinkled pepper over your favourite dish – but these spicy benefits go well beyond its taste. Black pepper is rich in antioxidants and antibacterial properties and may aid in aching muscles and inflammation. Say no more – can you pass the pepper?
Burdock Root
Burdock root is a vegetable that’s commonly found in Asia and Europe and has been used for centuries to aid digestion. As a topical remedy, research has shown that Burdock Root contains multiple types of powerful antioxidants – some of which may help to reduce inflammation. In humans, it’s also believed to improve acne, ringworm and sore muscles.
Myrrh Gum
A natural gum, myrrh has been used as perfume and incense for thousands of years. More recently, it’s been used for minor skin diseases, bruises, aches and pains. It has also been used as a natural mouthwash due to its antibacterial properties.
Beeswax
If you’re a fan of natural remedies, you’ve no doubt come across beeswax. So what’s the buzz about? Beeswax is great for irritated skin, and works to lock in moisture and reduce inflammation. It’s ideal for a healthy coat – in other words, your dog will be the best looking pooch at the dog park.
Lavender Oil
HOW DO I USE THE BALM?
Our hemp balm is intended for rough, cracked paws or specific areas of concern. The amount you give will depend on the shape and size of your furry friend, but the best news is, you can’t overdo it. Most pets will begin to feel furtastic within a few days or weeks (sorry, that’s not actually a word).
Storage
It’s best to store Pet Balm in the fridge or out of the heat and direct sunlight, as this keeps the temperature nice and controlled. (Balm will go harder in Fridge)
Once opened use within 6 months. Oils in the balm can go rancid over time if left out in the heat or direct sunlight.
While we don’t anticipate any reactions, before using our Pet Balm, please ensure your pet does not have any known allergies to any of the ingredients. If you are unsure, we recommend conducting a patch test before full use. Apply a small amount to a discrete area and monitor for any adverse reactions.

WILL THIS MAKE MY PET HIGH?
Absolutely not. And if that’s what you were looking for, you’re barking up the wrong tree. Hemp Seed Oil does not contain the cannabinoid ‘THC’ – which is the part of Cannabis that gives a psychoactive effect. You won’t find any of that here.
WHY DOES MY BALM HAVE WHITE SPECS?
Our Pet Balm may contain some specks in the product.
The whitish beads are concentrated beads of nourishing plant butter that solidifies into little butter bits as they cool.
Unprocessed butters, like our Shea & Cocoa, will occasionally separate in some products with changes in temperature.
Although we see the little beads most often in the Summer months, changes in temperature as the products make their journey to you can happen any time of year. The concentrated beads of butter will melt as you massage the product into the skin.
Our goal is to create the best natural, wholesome, nourishing skincare possible, so we formulate our products without synthetic stabilizers, emulsifiers, or waxes.
